Up early for a planned sunrise shoot at Bombo Quarry, however a huge band of low cloud out over the horizon caused quick rethink. We headed up to Saddleback Mtn lookout - a great view watching the light fill the shadows in the valleys.
Then snapped this on the way back home .... the cloud was still there !

Gum Trees n Thick Misty Fog! 😁
Exploring forests on a wet, foggy morning, no one else around, just me and the birds, bugs and I guess a few snakes.
Love how the fog really brings out the colour of these Gum trees ( I’m guessing Eucalyptus saligna ), as well as the surrounding foliage plants.
The famous sandstone Hampden Bridge, built in the 1890's, is Australia's oldest suspension bridge and is a most impressive and attractive structure! This image taken on a very foggy morning ... not uncommon in the valley!
Just west of Kiama, heading up into Saddleback Mtn, there are a host of these country roads, many framed with these old stone fences. Many of the fences were built as far back as the 1850's, with nearly 400 of them listed as heritage items in the Kiama municipality! Love 'em! :)
Has to be one of my favourite views on the South Coast .... just draws you down to Seven Mile Beach!
Such a great location to finish the day!
One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Australia, the Fitzroy Falls in the beautiful Morton National Park plunges dramatically into the untouched valley 81m below. This breathtaking location provides views from escarpment lookouts. Explore winding forest trails dotted with wildflowers, and spot rare native birds and wildlife!

I was on my way back to the car after trudging around the bush, the rain was getting a lil’ heavier.
Then I saw off to the right this beautiful Fern, providing a window through the fog.
Had to stop!
